Some wedding weekends feel like a celebration.
Dani and Andrei’s felt like an experience.
From a rehearsal dinner at one of Austin’s most iconic restaurants to a lakeside western welcome party and an unforgettable wedding day at Commodore Perry Estate, every event was thoughtfully designed around what mattered most to them: bringing together the people they love.
And while every detail was beautiful, what stood out most was exactly what Dani and Andrei hoped for from the beginning. Genuine moments. Real laughter. Family gathered together. And a wedding weekend that felt as fun as it was elegant.
Commodore Perry Estate Wedding
The celebration began with an intimate rehearsal dinner at Mattie’s at Green Pastures, one of Austin’s most beloved historic restaurants. Surrounded by family and their closest friends, guests gathered beneath the oak trees to kick off the weekend.
The following evening, everyone traded black tie for boots at a western-inspired welcome party overlooking the lake at Westwood Country Club. Guests spent the evening enjoying Texas hospitality, reconnecting with old friends, and getting a taste of what was to come.
By the time wedding day arrived, there was already a feeling that this wasn’t just a wedding. It was a full weekend dedicated to celebrating two families coming together.
A Black Tie Commodore Perry Estate Wedding
Nestled in the heart of Austin, Commodore Perry Estate provided the perfect setting for Dani and Andrei’s wedding day. With its historic architecture, manicured gardens, and timeless European-inspired design, the estate felt both sophisticated and welcoming.
The wedding embraced a romantic palette of pink and green florals paired with classic black tie attire. Every detail felt elevated without ever feeling overly formal.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching Dani and Andrei move through it together. They specifically told me they wanted photos that felt authentic rather than overly posed, and that approach shaped the entire experience.
From their first look in the gardens to quiet moments throughout cocktail hour, some of my favorite images came from simply giving them space to be together.
Family at the Center of Everything
If there was one theme woven throughout the entire weekend, it was family.
Dani and Andrei prioritized family photographs, meaningful conversations, and time spent with the people who traveled from near and far to celebrate alongside them. Their ceremony was officiated by Andrei’s father, making the moment even more personal.
Throughout cocktail hour, they focused on connecting with guests while we captured candid interactions, hugs, laughter, and all the little moments that often become the most treasured memories years later.
An Unforgettable Commodore Perry Estate Reception
As guests entered the reception, they were welcomed into a space transformed with lush florals, elegant tablescapes, custom rentals, dramatic draping, and thoughtful design details that perfectly complemented the estate’s historic charm.
After heartfelt toasts, parent dances, and cake cutting, the dance floor quickly became the center of the celebration.
With Matchmaker Band keeping the energy high all evening, guests packed the dance floor from the moment it opened. The night was filled with nonstop dancing, outfit changes, surprise moments, and the kind of energy that makes you wish the celebration could last just a little longer.
Why I Love Photographing a Commodore Perry Estate Wedding
A Commodore Perry Estate wedding offers something that is difficult to find elsewhere in Austin.
It feels intimate despite being one of the most luxurious venues in Texas.
The gardens, architecture, and historic character provide endless opportunities for beautiful photographs, but what makes the venue truly special is how it allows couples to create an experience that feels personal and welcoming.
Dani and Andrei did exactly that.
Their wedding weekend was elegant, joyful, and completely centered around the people they love most.
Dani and Andrei, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredible weekend. From Mattie’s to Westwood Country Club to your beautiful Commodore Perry Estate wedding, it was an honor to capture every moment.
