If you’re looking for inspiration for Austin engagement photos, Meghan and Davis’ session is one of my favorites.
Not only did they bring along their two adorable dogs, Berkeley and River, but we also got to explore two iconic Austin locations that perfectly matched their classic style. Between the historic architecture of the old Downtown Austin courthouse and the timeless beauty of the Texas State Capitol, this session felt quintessentially Austin from start to finish.
Austin Engagement Photos with Berkeley & River
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to document couples exactly as they are in this season of life. For Meghan and Davis, that meant including their two dogs, Berkeley and River.
The pups joined us for the first portion of the session and immediately stole the spotlight. Whether they were posing perfectly for photos or keeping us all entertained between shots, they added so much personality to the evening.
As a dog lover myself, I always encourage couples to bring their pets if they’re an important part of their story. Years from now, these images become so much more meaningful because they capture life exactly as it was.
From Hinge to Forever
Meghan and Davis met on Hinge in September 2023 and, as Meghan puts it, have been inseparable ever since.
For them, it was one of those rare “when you know, you know” relationships.
Davis grew up in Temple, Texas, while Meghan is originally from Rochester, New York. After moving to Austin a little over three years ago, Meghan built a life in the city she now calls home. Today, the two live together in Southwest Austin with Berkeley and River.
In September 2025, Davis proposed during a trip to Cabo to celebrate their two-year anniversary. It was the perfect beginning to this next chapter together.
Downtown Austin Engagement Photos
We began the evening at the historic courthouse in Downtown Austin, one of my favorite locations for couples who love timeless architecture and a more editorial feel.
The stone archways, grand staircases, and historic details provided a beautiful backdrop while still allowing the focus to remain on Meghan and Davis. The location feels elegant without being overly formal, making it perfect for engagement photos that will feel just as beautiful years from now as they do today.
Texas State Capitol Engagement Photos
After spending time downtown, we headed to the Texas State Capitol for the second half of the session.
The Capitol remains one of the most iconic locations for Austin engagement photos. Between the beautiful architecture, sprawling grounds, and classic Texas backdrop, it’s easy to see why so many couples are drawn to it.
As the sun began to set, Meghan and Davis wandered the Capitol grounds together, laughing, talking, and simply enjoying the evening. Those unposed moments always end up being some of my favorites because they reflect what matters most: the connection between two people who genuinely love being together.
Looking Ahead to Their Arlo Wedding
In November 2026, Meghan and Davis will exchange vows at St. John Neumann Catholic Church before celebrating with family and friends at The Arlo, planned by Simply XO Events.
Their vision for the day is classy, cozy, romantic, and fun. Think romantic shades of pink and red, lush greenery, live music, and a black-and-white checkered dance floor that will undoubtedly be packed all night long.
Knowing these two, I have no doubt the celebration will be equal parts beautiful and joyful.
Meghan and Davis, thank you for trusting me to document this season of your lives. Spending the evening with you, Berkeley, and River was such a joy, and I can’t wait to celebrate alongside you next November.
Until then, enjoy some of my favorite Austin engagement photos from your session.
