There’s something extra special about photographing engagement sessions in places filled with meaning—and Suzie and Matt’s Wimberley engagement photos couldn’t have been more heartfelt. We met on Suzie’s family property, tucked into the beautiful Hill Country landscape just minutes from downtown Wimberley. Not only is it where we took their portraits, but it’s also the site of their welcome party before they tie the knot this April!

With every step through the wild grasses and oak trees, you could feel the joy and history of the space. Their connection felt effortless—full of laughter, sweet moments, and the kind of ease that comes from truly knowing one another. It was clear this property wasn’t just a backdrop, but part of their story.

Suzie and Matt are planning a spring wedding with the help of the amazing team at 36th Street Events, and I can’t wait to see their floral vision come to life with By Maggie Peterson. If this session is any indication, their wedding will be full of charm, authenticity, and effortless beauty.

We captured everything on both digital and film to preserve that sense of timelessness and warmth that Wimberley naturally offers. The light was perfect, the scenery was lush, and Suzie and Matt’s joy made everything glow.
