A few Saturdays ago, I road tripped to Dallas and back to meet Meagan + Scott for their White Rock Lake engagement photos! I’d been so excited about this shoot, especially since Meagan was referred to me by my sweet photographer friend who will be a bridesmaid in the wedding. I was also so pumped to shoot somewhere so special to the couple – Meagan told me this is one of her favorite places in all of Dallas (I mean, who can blame her)!
As I was getting to writing this blog, Meagan and Scott published their love story and told it in a more heartfelt way than I ever could, so I’m sharing a little bit of their sweet story below! Take a peek. 🙂 I can’t wait for their Dallas/Denton wedding this fall!
“On our first date, I knew Meagan was a very special person and sparks flew! Meagan mentioned that her favorite place is Magnolia in Waco. The closest way that I could recreate that was to take her to Urban Farmhouse in Oklahoma City. I’ve always drooled over their tables. We went to Urban Farmhouse together and had a really good time. Throughout the rest of summer and fall, our love grew like crazy. A few months later, I decided to finally purchase a Farmhouse table… Meagan and I went into the store and placed the order. At the time we purchased it, I had it in the back of my mind that I wanted them to help with the proposal somehow. I contacted them in early January, and they were ecstatic to help. Meagan started asking if I had heard from them and asking a lot of questions. Every time I got a call from Urban Farmhouse, Meagan was there and I would try to cover up what we talked about for so long. I went to OKC the day before I proposed to hide the ring. The person that was helping me at Urban Farmhouse suggested hiding the ring in a candle box because it was their new item. I accidentally put the box back together wrong with the ribbon tucked into the box. I decided it was for the best. We went to pick up the table the next afternoon, and they handed her the candle saying it was a “complimentary candle with the purchase of a table.” Once we got home, my parents and Meagan helped unload the table. Meagan wanted me to cut the candle box open, and I said that I was out of breath. I went outside to get her family. When we walked into the room, she knew exactly what was going on. I started cutting the box open, and the ring shot up. I got down on one knee and asked Meagan to marry me. Luckily for me, she said yes! Best day of my life!” – Scott
