Rajani and Phil’s upstate New York wedding at Audrey’s Farmhouse – Old Mill was the kind of weekend celebration that made you feel instantly at home. As one of Rajani’s closest friends and her photographer (and bridesmaid!), I had the absolute honor of documenting their wedding while also standing beside her. It’s hard to put into words just how meaningful it was to witness their love in this way.
Their wedding weekend began in Hoboken on Thursday evening with a vibrant mehndi and traditional Hindu ceremony. Friends and family gathered as henna was applied, music played, and the anticipation for the rest of the weekend began to build.
On Friday, everyone headed north to Audrey’s Farmhouse – Old Mill in the Hudson Valley. Rajani and Phil hosted a cozy welcome dinner inside a sailcloth tent, designed with care by LBV Design House and brought to life with floral installations from Truth and Blooms. Guests enjoyed incredible food from Embers by Mill House, beautiful rentals from BBJ La Tavola and Nuage Designs, and a night of laughter that set the tone for the wedding day. One of my favorite details was that Rajani and Phil, along with both of their families, stayed on-site together—making the whole celebration feel like a heartfelt retreat.
Saturday arrived with steady rain, but instead of dampening spirits, it made everything feel even cozier. Audrey’s Farmhouse became the backdrop for a wedding that was equal parts joyful, colorful, and intentional. The design blended modern garden style with vibrant Indian-inspired touches, perfectly reflecting Rajani’s roots and Phil’s warmth.
I’m especially grateful to Valerie from LBV Design House and Kinsey from Truth and Blooms for traveling to upstate New York to design such a special wedding. Their creativity, vision, and heart made the entire weekend not just beautiful but deeply personal for Rajani and Phil.
From the moment the Hudson Valley String Quartet began playing at the ceremony, the atmosphere was full of anticipation. Guests watched as Rajani, radiant in her Sarah Seven gown, walked down the aisle. The rain outside seemed to heighten the intimacy inside, wrapping everyone in the most heartfelt energy.
After vows and a jubilant recessional, guests enjoyed cocktails while Valerie and Kinsey’s team transformed the reception space into a vibrant, welcoming scene. The night unfolded with heartfelt toasts, joyful dancing thanks to DJ Jay McElfresh, and an array of desserts from SophistiCakes.
For me, this wedding was so much more than just a job. Rajani isn’t just family—she’s one of my very best friends. Photographing her wedding was an act of love and gratitude. Watching her and Phil surrounded by the people who mean the most to them, in a place tied to Rajani’s college years in upstate New York, felt like everything had come full circle.
