These San Marcos engagement photos showcase the magical ending of a romantic comedy, complete with sweet puppies. Rewind for a moment and I’ll share how we got here! Roughly a decade ago, Danielle went down to Mexico for the wedding of a friend. During the reception, she was introduced to a tall, blue eyed man who quickly caught her attention. Colt was charming, kind, and funny, but there was one major hitch. He lived in Texas and Danielle lived in Colorado. Four months of phone calls and texts flew by and Danielle found herself moving to Texas. Two dogs and 18 acres of land later, Colt and Danielle found themselves living their dream life in Texas Hill Country.
Last year, Colt was ready to take the romance one step further and proposed to Danielle with a stunning pink sapphire engagement ring. (Isn’t that just perfect for her?) To honor the piece of Danielle’s heart that loves her Colorado mountains, they’re planning a destination wedding back there in 2020.
One inspiring element in their engagement session was their choice of outfits! This is a perfect example for how you can choose both a casual look and an elegant look for your photos, no need to just choose one if you feel torn. This couple started out with denim and flannel, a tribute to their rustic ranch lifestyle. Halfway through the session, they transformed. Danielle into a beautiful, floor length blush gown that perfectly complimented her engagement ring, and Colt into a sharp blue suit. I love that he kept his look a little more relaxed and casual by forgoing a tie and leaving his shirt unbuttoned. Together, their outfits give a more elevated appeal to their photos while still feeling soft and natural.
