It was a hotter-than-usual July day (let’s say a casual 114*) and all over Austin, people were buzzing place to place, trying to escape the heat in whatever way possible. But as soon as I turned on Silver Creek Road, everything felt suddenly very calm. I rolled down my window just a touch when I got to this Prospect House wedding and you could physically feel the stillness of everything around us. The wind weaving its way through the tall grass, the birds chirping and the faint sound of the florists hanging up installations in the distance. I knew this day was meant to be special, but I had no idea just how special it would be.

The entire day was one of the smoothest, loveliest, sweetest and precious wedding days I’ve ever been a part of. Between the genuine adoration and love Emily and Jimmy have for each other (and their families) and the flawless execution of Kierstin of Lovely Day Events, from start to finish I wish I could just hold onto this day. I had an inkling from their engagements, but this day really did surpass all expectations.

Emily and Jimmy created a day from scratch they truly loved – they skipped all the things that didn’t bring them joy (like doing a first dance in front of everyone) and they savored the parts they loved most (like take a private moment alone before photos or breaking it down on the dance floor with 60 of their closest friends). Though their day was so much more than photography, I feel grateful they embraced all the photo time we were able to use – even us stepping out for 5 minutes at sunset to catch the last glimpse of golden light.

Bottom line: LET’S DO IT AGAIN. And let me not forget this day wouldn’t have been possible without the most kick-ass vendor friends ever:
