This contemporary western-style Park Winters wedding was everything Anna and Andy had wanted and more. While paying homage to their Chinese American heritage, Anna and Andy incorporated both western and Chinese traditions into their wedding day.

Park Winters had the “wow” factor for Anna and Andy. They wanted to lean toward the “less is more” philosophy and find a venue that was beautiful on its own. It had the beautiful luxe but homey farmhouse charm, not to mention the iconic sunken garden and the pool! Furthermore, their commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and hospitality made it a no-brainer to go with them for their big day.

Some Chinese-American touches they included:

• Double Happiness: The Chinese “double happiness” symbol (which represents joy and happiness for newlyweds) was incorporated into their welcome signage as well as their menus and placecards!
• Fortune Cookie Escort Wall: Fortune Cookies are ubiquitous to the Asian-American experience, and they were able to find a lighthearted way to incorporate them into their wedding by using them as Escort Wall favors!
• Prosperity Toss: Anna and Andy liked the idea of engaging with their guests and paying forward good luck and fortune. In an effort to be more inclusive and to tie in their Chinese heritage, they decided to reframe the bouquet toss as a Prosperity Toss! All guests, regardless of gender or relationship status, could participate. Rather than having the “winner” receiving good luck for a future engagement/marriage, they decided that they would receive something much more valuable- MONEY!
