Brittany and Will’s Mission San Jose engagement photos in San Antonio are amongst my favorite this year (especially since I LOVE destination engagement photos)! You may not consider San Antonio a destination, but take one step onto the Mission San Jose property and you’ll be instantly transported to old work Europe, given the space has an incredible Spanish vibe. The property is technically a National Park and also houses an active Catholic church inside part of the structure – how cool, right?!
It was a dreary morning, but it turned out so beautifully with the slight overcast skies – giving us the most perfect mid-morning light. Perhaps my favorite part of their session was the champagne pop we did at the end! Or those dreamy doors on the front of the church.
I love how Brittany tells their story: “We met while both attending a mutual friend’s wedding in Lampasas, TX. We didn’t actually speak at the wedding as I was quite occupied on the dance floor. Will decided to reach out to me on Twitter a few days later. Regardless, we claim the wedding as their first encounter. After an Austin, TX first date, a Lake Charles, LA fraternity formal, separate college graduations, and a lot of long distance chats…we eventually fell out of touch and took this as a sign to just be friends. Years passed, but countless run-ins at football games and concerts (thank you Aggie football & Parker McCollum) kept the friendship alive. It was not until a night out in College Station, TX in 2017 that I realized that Will was the person I had been praying for. Will had always held out hope that I would finally notice what he knew all along – we were meant to be together. Two years later, we’re best friends & teammates for life. We’re finally ready to make it official!”
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at HighPointe Estate next spring with Simply XO Events!
