This Mae’s Ridge wedding is special to me for so many reasons – at the time, I had no idea Katherine and Ryan’s would be my first and last wedding of spring 2020. The very next week after this wedding, COVID-19 completely wiped clean my calendar of special couples getting married in Texas and California. Looking back on these photos, it feels like another world: one where we could hug each other freely, mix and mingle among friends and get a late night snack after the wedding. That’s why it’s taken me a few weeks to get this blog up, as soon as I do, I know this will be my final wedding blog for a few months.

This was a destination wedding for both Katherine and Ryan, and most of their guests. Shortly after this sweet couple hired me, they moved to Arizona, which made the perfect backdrop for their destination engagement session in Arizona (remember traveling for fun?!).

This is one wedding where I can’t pick a “favorite” moment, but if I had to, it would definitely be Katherine and Ryan receding down the aisle as husband and wife after the ceremony andddddd their emotional first dance. That and all the special touches they added to honor special people in their life who couldn’t be there. My favorite was the punch served for toasts – it was a special wedding punch made in memory of Katherine’s grandma.

The weather held up perfectly for this springtime shindig – it was 75* with a cool breeze and a touch of overcast skies. Pair that with some of my favorite vendors, the SWEETEST couple, a super emotional first look and a super seamless day where everything ran five minutes early: it was truly the best day ever.
