I don’t think you know what you’re in for with today’s Longhorn Wedding at Canyonwood Ridge. ALL. THE. HEART. EYES.
As UT Austin grads, Cami and Ross just knew they had to get married in the Austin / Texas Hill Country area. They originally met in speech class as undergrads, but the timing just wasn’t right. They both moved on with their lives without ever dating, though they knew the sparks were there – Cami moved to Dallas and Ross moved to Houston after graduation.
As luck would have it, they reconnected when Ross was in Dallas for a UT football game and they’ve been together ever since (and they are still spending their time going to football games! Fun fact: When Cami was scheduling her bridals this fall, we had to work around games – that’s how diehard they are about their ‘Horns!)
Their wedding day was an adrenaline rush in the best way – an incredible venue, amazing vendors, a truly AMAZING couple. There were multiple moments during the day that gave me goosebumps. During the ceremony, Ross’ dad, Larry, began singing the same song he’d once sang to his wife on their wedding day. Then, in a stroke of magic, the sun broke through the day’s clouds and gloom and send bright, streaming sun beams onto Cami and Ross at the altar right before the had their first kiss. I’m always emotional at weddings, but this moment sent me over the edge. Sometimes, you just know that you’re in the right place, at the right time, for a reason.
And!I don’t think I have ever been that tired from dancing at a reception. The Texas Unlimited Band, a Gidding classic (from Ross’ hometown), got onto the dance floor at one point and we all lost our minds. There was so much joy, fun, love and all-around craziness – I seriously can’t believe it’s all over.
