This midcentury modern inspired Hotel Magdalena wedding on South Congress in Downtown Austin was an absolute stunning! I was hired to photograph all the design elements for my dear friend Valerie from LBV Design House, and I couldn’t take my eyes off each and every detail.

Even though this stylish wedding was in the busiest part of Austin, you would never be able to tell since it was tucked away on Music Lane – the newest edition to the South Congress shopping district.

The Summerhouse on Music Lane and Hotel Magdalena’s event space were the perfect backdrop for Amy and Brendan. Their guests were greeted with margaritas before they took their seats in the perfectly mismatched chairs on the lawn. After the couple said their vows, the space was flipped into a cocktail-style reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and dancing.

Some of my favorite touches included: lighting incense around the space to trigger scent memory, the disco balls around the DJ booth, the casual atmosphere of the night, and the perfect April weather.

Though the wind seemed insurmountable, the design team came together for a truly stunning space for the guests to enjoy all night.
