This wedding at LBJ Wildflower Center was such a joy filled affair! From the start of their search, Melissa and James loved this venue. Melissa, a passionate advocate of the environment and nature, appreciated that the LBJ Wildflower Center focuses its efforts on the natural preservation and conservation of wildflower life. In fact, the center donates the profits from any wedding booked directly to that cause! The couple also chose to water a unity plant during their ceremony, another tribute to Melissa’s love of nature, tying in that theme throughout their big day. With glamorous bohemian elements, Melissa chose to have her side of the wedding party in a mauve, rose, and merlot color palette. Accessorizing her bridesmaids with flower crowns and bountiful bouquets, it was the perfect mix of elegant yet relaxed attire. Their macrame ceremony decor also added an ethereal feel to the day! James had his groomsmen in blue suits with red ties, a nod to more of a formal look while still adding a casual element with pops of color.
When Melissa and James met, they connected instantly and with such a bond that when James left town for medical school, their love held strong for a seven year long distance relationship. You can just feel their excitement at finally being together through the photos. Their passion for nature is only outdone by their devotion to one another! After the ceremony, Melissa and James relaxed in the beautiful wildflower gardens for portraits at sunset. They took a few moments to just soak in the joy of the day and one another before joining their guests at the reception. In a tragic turn of events a few weeks prior, James lost his father. The couple chose to honor his memory with a slideshow of his life, keeping their celebration focused on how much James’s father meant to everyone and what the gift of his life meant. This wedding at LBJ Wildflower Center was such beautiful tribute to the significant moments in life.
