These engagement photos in Santa Cruz have such a classic feel and I loved spending a time getting to know Caitlin and Kipp as I photographed their session. Caitlin is a dead ringer for Rory from Gilmore Girls so it makes perfect sense that she and Kipp had their own adorable meet cute, right? Caitlin is originally from the South Bay and Kipp grew up in Phoenix but fate brought them together at Santa Clara University while living on the same floor in the dorms. Friends for months, Caitlin thought Kipp was way out of her league and didn’t try to make a move but little did she know, Kipp felt exactly the same way! One thing lead to another however and 7 months later they were going steady. They’re both incredibly grateful to have built their romance on friendship first, and have carried that friendship with them along the way. (They straight up told me they were best friends and I love that!)

Of course, Kipp knew Caitlin was the ONE. While on vacation in Belize, he planned a stunning sunset proposal on the dock overlooking the ocean, asking Caitlin to be his wife. She was so excited and overwhelmed with emotion, immediately saying yes! They spent the rest of their week on vacation celebrating and living on cloud 9, which sounds like the best trip ever.

Caitlin and Kipp kept their outfits for this session classic and timeless. While I love a good trend and pop of color, these outfits work perfectly for the location we chose and I really love how they complemented one another! That blue dress is so dreamy, don’t you think?

They’re tying the knot next year at the Santa Clara Mission and Silver Creek Valley Country Club and just looking at these engagement photos in Santa Cruz makes me so excited for their wedding!
