You may remember Caroline + Sam from their engagement session last fall! It seemed like ages away at the time, but now they’ve done it: they’re MARRIED!!!! There are so many reasons I love this Driskill Austin wedding: the couple, the venue, the planning team, the florals, the color scheme – AH!
This was my first time shooting a Driskill Austin wedding. I’ve shot rehearsal dinners here, getting ready moments, but never a weddings, so I am SO excited to share!! If you’ve visited Austin (or heck, even know anything about Historic Sixth Street), then you’re familiar with The Driskill. It’s one of the oldest hotels in Texas (founded in 1886) and offers incredible architecture. Their wedding and events team caters to every need and it’s one of the few hotel venues that allows you to rent out the entire Mezzanine for your event. Did I mention there are incredible suites on this floor as well, allowing for an absolutely seamless wedding experience?
Beyond the venue, this day was the perfect balance of old world charm, luxurious details and FUN. Caroline and Sam worked closely with my good friend Kristin of Kristin Catter Events to create a day that truly transported you to a night of glamorous partying, tucked away from the craziness of Sixth Street.
My favorite part of the day was watching these two during the exchange of their vows. The way they look at each other is so sweet and watching Sam reach out and grab Caroline’s hand to kiss it at the of the ceremony was just too much!
I’m so grateful to have celebrated this day with you two, C + S!
