You may recognize the cuties in this McKinney Falls anniversary photos from Savanah + Preston’s wedding just one year ago at 1850 Settlement! I had the honor of getting together with these two before the make the move to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina (Savanah is a U.S. Army solider – how amazing is that?!)
More than anything, they wanted to capture the *Texas* vibes of the hill country before they make their move. We knew McKinney Falls reflected that same sense of wild beauty that’s native to Texas and make for a comfortable setting for their new addition: their sweet pup Laura Jane!
Each anniversary, I like to ask my couples what they’ve learned through marriage so far. The answers to this question is always so different Savanah said: “I have learned that marriage is an incredibly awesome, sometimes hard, but mostly joyful picture of Christ’s love for His church. Marriage calls you to put your spouse first, ahead of your own wants and desires and challenges you to better communicate (Which I would highly recommend. Going to bed mad at your best friend is no fun)! We’ve learned how to better encourage one another and to appreciate and CELEBRATE our differences. Having complementary strengths and weaknesses is a huge, God-given blessing, but absolutely forces us to better listen and be humble to the fact that there’s more ways than MY way to view or handle a situation. Having a companion who knows you intimately and to share life with is such a gift.”
Marriage should be celebrated far beyond the wedding day – anniversary sessions do just that! Interested in an anniversary session of your own? Send me a note and let’s something up!
