This Gardens at Heather Farm wedding is so special because it took place (not only in the middle of the pandemic), but on Amanda and Ben’s 11th (!!! yes, I know !!!) anniversary. Amanda and I were on the phone together at least once a week, talking as we schemed and planned about how to make their day happen, even amidst the chaos. Amanda replanned this wedding no less than 5 times, with their original venue and church cancelling on them. Amanda was able to arrange for the entire day (including their Catholic ceremony and reception) to happen outside to maximize safety while still including all those near and dear. It was an intimate, but meaningful day!! (see why I’m such a big fan of intimate weddings HERE!)
If you read my COVID-19 wedding safety tips blog post, you should know the bulk of those tips were inspired by Amanda and all the efforts this physician’s assistant put into being conscientious while letting the party go on!! My favorite idea was keeping guests seated by family during the ceremony outside to keep people distant. To an outsider looking in, you would have no idea this was because of the pandemic. It seemed so natural!
Never in my life have I seen two people as grateful to get married as Amanda and Ben – after such a long and enduring relationship across states, schools and years – these two are just happy to be in the same place at the same time, with wedding rings in tow. 😉
My photographer heart is so full – I love you Amanda and Ben! I can’t wait to design an incredible album about your day.
