I’m SO excited to share these Texas State engagement photos with you! Sweet Emily and I go WAY back to her graduation photo days – it feels like just yesterday we were walking around the Texas State University campus with her mom and sister chatting about what’s next for her. Fast forward three years, Emily and her college sweetheart, Matt, made a return trip to San Marcos for a football game – they spent the weekend doing all the usual Texas State things, but also made a pit stop at the LBJ Student Center. Why? Emily had no idea! Little did Emily know, Matt had been working up the courage to pop the question inside the LBJ Teaching Theater where they first met as students. Emily barely believed what just happened and was even more surprised to find their family and friends waiting outside the theater to celebrate. This story (and my own love for my alma mater) made San Marcos the perfect backdrop for their Bobcat engagement session.
We spent the afternoon wandering The Square, making a trip back to campus and popping champagne at the Meadows Center – which is the perfect day, in my opinion. What strikes me more than anything about Emily and Matt is not just how friendly they are, but how much they outward love, compliment and celebrate each other. The way they interacted in front of the camera with ease, naturally sneaking in kisses and giggles. It made me wish the sun would never set.
These two are turning this Austin wedding photographer into a Houston photog, since I will heading up to shoot their classic wedding in downtown Houston in just a few short months! I made Emily and Matt promise me they’d play the Texas State fight song (and a little bit of Fergie, too, of course ;-))
