Where do I start with this Seattle destination engagement session? Do I start off with the fact that we did three sessions in three days? Or do we talk about how amazing and adventurous Caroline and Kyle are for electing to do a destination engagement session? Or do we start off my saying how thankful I am for these sweet humans and their new friendship?

Let’s start with how Caroline and Kyle’s first date. It was in Houston, at a cozy restaurant and it entailed hours and hours of chatting and hitting it off (also, Caroline may have researched Kyle before the date to make sure he wasn’t a murderer – NBD, lololol). They liked each other so much that they decided to go for a run the very next morning. If that isn’t a match made in heaven, I don’t know what is. Flash forward to late last year and these two decided to make it *official* on the banks of Lake Como in Italy. It wasn’t long before we connected with each other and I knew I had to work with them.

Our crazy idea to travel for these photos started when Caroline was like “what if we didn’t do our engagement session in Houston, what if we travelled somewhere cool to do them instead?” You can imagine ALL THE PRAISE HAND EMOJIS are firing in my brain (especially because I’m obsessed with destination engagement sessions).

Together we collaborated on where, when and how we’d pull this bad boy off (and might I say we had so much fun while doing it?!) We settled on a Seattle destination engagement session with a trip to North Cascades National Park – SWOON, I know.

Our Seattle destination engagement session itinerary:

• Sunday: Fly into Seattle, head to Discovery Park for our first session (and then to Pike’s Place Market in the evening)
• Monday: Drive three hours to North Cascades National Park (and hit all the major attractions: lakes, outlooks and SNOW) for all day shooting
• Sunday: Cozy up in a local Seattle coffee/bakery/floral shop (I know!) for one more mini-session and then fly home

While we were there, we stayed in Capitol Hill (aka my FAVORITE PNW neighborhood) and drank our weight in good coffee. We spent the entire trip just chatting about life, getting to know each other better and getting excited for their wedding this fall at The Farmhouse. It was chilly, drizzly and all around the best three days EVER.
